Voluntering

It is no small task to put on the Avalon Camps! The Committee members work throughout the year to plan for the upcoming camp and this includes encouraging volunteers from all walks of life to join in.​

 Our Volunteers erect the marquee and the tents, cook, do cleaning, wash up, make sandwiches (lots of sandwiches!), do laundry and provide night security.​

How you can help at Avalon Camps​

Volunteering even a small amount of time is a huge help. You’ll get to meet new people in the local community, gain new skills, and most importantly see the positive impact you have on our children.​

We are always looking for new volunteers who are willing to help in any number of ways – spending just one or two evenings washing up after tea time is a massive help and shows our children that you care. In the 35 years since Avalon Camps began, we have lost many of our volunteers who contributed so much in the early years. However, as word has spread of the work we do, we have welcomed volunteers from further afield – they have all been delighted that they got involved and continue to spread the word to about Avalon Camps.​
